Svijany brewery supported The Kolowrátek Endowment Fund

A ceremonial hand-over of a cheque for the amount of CZK 30.000 donated to the Kolowrátek Endowment Fund took place during the 15th Beer Ball, held on March 21st from 8PM in Dům Kultury in Liberec. The cheque was accepted by JUDr. Dominika Kolowrat – Krakowská, the chairwoman of the Kolowrátek board.

A January benefit concert raised CZK 200.000 for the Endowment Fund

The National theatre soloist, Japanese opera singer Yukiko Šrejmová Kinjo accompanied by pianist Norbert Heller, delighted the audience during the evening in the splendid confines of the extraordinary interior of an originally Romanesque church. Cellist Jiří Bárta performed compositions by Sebastian Bach. Jan Talich performed compositions by Antonín Dvořák in his unique manner. At the end of the program, JUDr. Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowská, the chairwoman of the Board, together with her daughter Francesca, announced the release of Jiří Bárta and Norbert Heller´s CD.

Kolowrátek celebrated its fifth birthday with a concert

The Church of St. Vavřinec below Prague´s Petřín was host to a very exceptional event on Thursday, January 16th. Several world-renowned musicians performed at this benefit concert. Exceptional artists and special guests were all in attendance to honour the fifth anniversary of the foundation of Kolowrátek.

Benefit concert in the Church of St. Vavřinec below Prague´s Petřín

The Kolowrat-Krakowský family and The Kolowrátek Endowment Fund is holding a benefit concert in the Church of St. Vavřinec below Prague´s Petřín on Thursday, January 16th. The concert will become a celebration of the fifth anniversary of the afore - mentioned fund, which was established by Maximilian, Francesca and Dominika on February 26th, 2008 on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the birth of Earl František Tomáš and which continues the family tradition of patronage through its charitable activities.

The Kolowrat forests´s Hunters´ Ball helped the Children´s home in Tachov

The second annual Hunters´ Ball, organized by employees of The Kolowrat forests , took place on Friday, 15th of November 2013 in the hall of the former school in Přimda. The goal was not only to have a good time, but also to support a good cause. Takings from ticket sales, raffle tickets and moufflon auction went through Kolowrátek to the benefit of the Children´s home in Tachov.

Children’s Day for the Tachov Children’s Home

On Saturday 1st June 2013 we invited the children from our children’s home to Prague. Despite the unpleasant weather, we went sightseeing in the centre of our historic capital. We really enjoyed seeing Prague castle and bravely made our way through the hordes of tourists on Charles Bridge and in Old Town Square. At Kolowrat Palace the children had lunch and it was there that they eagerly awaited their surprise.

Wheelchairs users from Paraple to the National Theatre

The Kolowrat Foundation, in cooperation with the National Theatre, has prepared a special treat for clients of the Paraple Centre: for every reprise of the Petr Zelenka play Ohrožené Druhy the theatre will reserve complimentary tickets in the New Stage for Paraple Centre clients and their carers.

The Reconvalescence of Jaroslav Sadovský

Two months after a series of successful operations on his right hand, ten-year-old Jaroslav’s rehabilitation is going really well. Every week, with his family, he undergoes several hours of exercises and pressure massages under the supervision of specialists. He is slowly beginning to use his hand in his everyday life. At school he is even using his hand to write for the first time in his life! Thanks to the professional care from the team at the Prague Clinic of Plastic Surgery at Královské Vinohrady hospital who were able to save resources through public collections. The Kolowrat Foundation named Kolowrátek evaluates how best to deal with this saved money. The board of directors, in their April meeting, will discuss the other causes to which funding will be given.

Kolowratek Rewarded the Winners of the Alfred Radok Awards

At a gala evening at the Dlouhá Theatre, Maximilian Kolowrat–Krakowsky handed over cheques to the winners of the playwriting category of the Alfred Radok Awards. The winner of the category, Miloslav Vojtíšek, received a cheque to the value of CZK 50.000. Tomáš Vůjtek, who finished in 3rd place, received a cheque to the value of CZK 10.000. Congratulations!

The 3rd year of the Horn Players' Ball in Písek took place on Saturday, 17th February, in the presence of the Club of Horn Players of the Higher Forestry School and the Secondary Forestry School in Písek, over which we took auspices.

Jaroušek Sadovský Was Released from Hospital

The 10 year old boy left the Plastic Surgery Clinic at the Vinohrady Teaching Hospital after 3 weeks and several successful operations. Jarda has suffered from vascular malformation since birth, which is a very serious disease that prevented him from using his right arm. We organized a public collection on behalf of Jarda, which took place at the Myslbek Shopping Galery. We hereby thank everyone for their kind-hearted donations!

Kolowratek is helping Jaroušek’s parents to take the first steps towards their goal. Nine-year-old Jaroušek is already in the hands of specialists from the Vinohrady Teaching Hospital.

Kolowratek supported the Children’s home Tachov

During her pre-Christmas visit, Mrs. Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowska handed over a cheque for CZK 30.000 to the Director of the Children’s home, Mr. Zdeněk Kropáč, on behalf of Kolowratek and the Kolowrat Woods. Thanks to last year’s financial aid, the home was able to buy a new kitchen.

ROUND-THE-WORLD TRIP IN ABSOLUTE DARKNESS again in Kolowrat Theatre

The Kolowrat Theatre presents an unconventional theatre performance – the theatre without seeing. Students of the Faculty of Theatre tell a famous story by Jules Verne and let the audience feel what it is like to travel around the world blindfolded. The performance works with fantasy provoked by sound, touch, feeling, smell, i.e. all senses except for sight. The project is not only focused on the visually impaired, but also on sighted audience members who would like to know what it is like to be blind.
