St. Nicholas celebration in the Tachov Children’s Home

The Tachov Children’s Home is one of the prime projects supported by the Kolowrátek Endowment Fund. One of their nicest shared events is the annual St. Nicholas party.

Lady Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowsky, the Supervisory Board members and other guests were warmly welcomed by the Director of the children’s home, Zdeněk Kropáč. Through two presentations he acquainted them with the activities and operation of the children’s home during 2015. They learned about the interests of individual children, about outings they had been on, as well as plans for the future. Lady JUDr. Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowsky and Mgr. Eliška Barthelemy handed the Director a donation on behalf of the Kolowrátek Endowment Fund and Kolowrat Forests in the amount of 90,000.- CZK.

The children filled the time before the arrival of St. Nicholas with their performance. They sang carols, played recorders and recited poems. Then came the ringing of a bell, shortly followed by the clatter of chains. The door opened and into the dining room came St. Nicholas, accompanied by an Angel and two Devils. One of the Devils was carrying the book of sins, a record of all wrongdoing. The wrongdoers promised to improve. Then Lady Eliška Barthelemy and Lady Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowsky handed out packs of goodies.

At then end of a pleasantly spent evening everyone said their goodbyes and resolved to meet again in a year’s time.
